Day 4 Tour of London

Today we went on a tour of our surroundings so that we can get around easier. We went in the underground to St. Paul stop where our tour began. Did you know the reason that the St. Paul's cathedral was not blown up by the Germans during WW2? Its because at the top of the Cathedral there is a cross and that was used for the land mark for them to know where to go to drop bombs on London's ports.
St. Paul's Cathedral
This cross is 365 feet in the air!
This is the group that went on the tour but I do not know all
our names

After we saw St. Paul's we started down the Millennium bridge which is the bridge that is featured in the last Harry Potter movies. While on the bridge we heard about a baker who wanted to make it big, and finally got his big break. He was wanting to pull out all the stops for this cake he was searching, and saw a church and really liked the shape and that is how we got our tear wedding cakes!!
Walking up to the Millennium Bridge
The little black steeple was his inspiration

Next  We went to the south side of the Thames river to the Bad side of town this reason being when the nobles wanted to build the city they wanted their business district next to their political section next to the fashion scene but they did not want the Brothels and pubs and Theaters on that side so they put them on the south side. One of those famous theaters being Shakespeare's the Globe!!!! Next is a little food for thought:

Shakespeare's the globe
You can go have a tour
of the theater and watch
a Shakespearean play in the
setting it was meant to be seen in!

This is the Tower Bridge
The Tower of London This is One of the most haunted places in London
This is the oldest bar in London built in 1615
its called the Anchor
Another picture of it
This is the church where the man with the last name Harvard
was Baptised.
This is a dry port that London tuned into
an art center very good use of the space!
Did you know that London at first did not like the tower bridge?

Did you know that London bridge the one before the one that is there now is in Arizona in front of a casino?

Did you know that there is a pub in London that was built in 1615 and saw the Great London Fire in 1666?

Did you know that the fonder of Harvard did so because his dear friend who's last name was Harvard and who had gotten a degree at Cambridge University in London and went over to the United States and had wanted to start a school there but died a year after he got there because of Tuberculosis?
After that we walked, looked and heard about London's very interesting History. At one the tour was over and me and two other girls went home and had to get grocery's and get ready for school that starts tomorrow at 8:30 AM!!
