day 43: Homework, shopping and getting ready for ROME!

Today I had to get my homework done for portfolio since we will not be back till midnight on Sunday and then I went shopping and got the cutest sandals and new dress and now I am packing for Rome but I have to make this quick cause we have to get up at 1 am to start our journey to Rome. Here are the pictures of my shoes and dress and I will not be writing in my blog until Monday afternoon because of how busy I will be ta ta for now!

Day 42: school all day

Today was my busy day where I have classes all day, but I got my midterms today I have 2 B's and a C. I have decided on my project for my textiles class that I will be knitting together and I have some what decided on  my 6 designs. In my fashion trends class I have decided on my individual project we have to come up with a store and designs and mood boards so for my store I will make it about reusing. For example you have an old tube T.V. that you love and don't want to get rid of well bring it to my store and it can be a Fish tank or something to that effect. Say you have all your baby cloths from when you or your children were little bring it to my shop and they could be a quilt. You have yearbook photos that you absolutely love but don't know what to do with them I will make them Iron ons to put on a bag of yours or your favorite comfy shirt... etc. Yep, that is my idea for my store so now all I have to do is figure out who my consumers are and who is my competition?! Another thing with this class that I get to do which is really exiting I get to enter a competition for WGSN which for those who are not aware is one of the leaders in fashion forecasting we get to have our project be somewhat the same requirements as the competition so we could win a layout on WGSN and money or a paid internship, how exiting. Here are the pictures of three of the final garments and what I put together in textiles toady. Tomorrow I have to do my portfolio homework and get packed for... ROME!!!


These are some of my ideas for my
 garment.

This is my first design front and back. It is a
 shirt with crochet chains going around
and then a pair of jeans. The shirt is the
design I will try to complete in 4 weeks.

This is my second design it is a dress
with essentially a square neckline and the chains
on top and then more on the sides and then the
back has a square cut out with the chains through
out there as well.

This is my third design it looks like a Barbie
dress and I love it but is is a tight fitting dress
with the chains and then they go into a halter top
in the back and the bottom of the skirt poofs out.

Day 41: Resurch

Today I went to school and did research for my final project in Portfolio and tonight I am trying to get more done with my project for textiles and I have to start on my second project for Fashion trends so back to the grind stone.

Day 40: School, grocerys and getting ready for school on Wednessday

Today I have my class in the morning and then I have to go grocery shopping cause I am out of food. After that I will be working on homework for Wednesday's classes and I would like to plan on going to the Tower of London on Thursday before I leave for Rome on Friday! Just guess what the weather is supposed to be like... 80 degrees and Sunny! I am so Exited!

Day 39: Homework and movies

Today I mostly did homework and when I was not doing that I watched movies.

Day 38: me day

Today was a me day I went down to Cass art to get some supplys for class on Monday and then I came home to do home work and juast realized that next Friday I am going to ROME!!!!!!

Day 37: My first professional Fashion show!!!

So today I went back to the Alternative fashion week to see the show and I am so glad I did I am going to attempt to up load the pictures and the video. The first video is about what the area looked like before the show, the second it an overview of the show, and the ones after are of the designs. I apologize if they are fuzzy ahead of time my arms were really starting to hurt when I was filming. The entire experience was chilling because I could see myself being one of the designers that were being showcased it was just an amazing learning experience.I could not upload all the videos successfully so I am putting them on you tube and you need the link to view them. This is the last of the second
designers outfits.

This is the second designers line she mostly
focused on having the color in the hats, but the
garments are interesting.

This is the third designer and her inspiration
was animals in an enchanted forest the
garment closest to you that looks like pants with a cape is actually pants with a ruffled
back that looks like a skirt it was really interesting.

interesting all of the girls got
to the end of the cat walk and did

This designer did a jean line. This was the
last pose and then one by one they all went back.

I would so wear this

The yellow with the purple dots  is so cutie

This was one of my favorite designers I loved her playful use of
color and volume.

This designer did a whole line of swimsuits. I felt really bad for
the models cause it was cold.

This designer did really interesting
things with latex and had a lot of
inspiration from Los Angles
