Day 51: Down to brass tacks

Today I got down to the business of doing all my final projects trying to get them at least all started. I started on my paper for my fashion trends class. I worked on putting my sketchbook together for my Textiles class I worked on fining a photo shoot in a magazine that I liked to start on my Portfolio final project. Overall it has been a busy day.

Day 50: Rest and Phantom of the Opera

This was my outfit

This is a view of the theater
Today I tryed to get alot of rest and work on homework a bit and then I went to see the Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theater here in London! I was amazing the costumes were so colorful and bright and the stage changes were flawless. The actors did wonderful, it was just overall enchanting to get to see one of my favorite musicals come to life right in front of me!One thing that I found rather odd though was the fact that Me and Kristena were two of the most dressed up people there. Everyone around us were in jeans and sweaters or plaid shirts. After the show I decided to splurge and bought a t-shirt that says Phantom of the Opera in London! Overall it was a good night.

Day 49: long school day

This is the front of my design

This is the back of my design
so far.
Today was my long day at school with Textiles and Fashion trends. In my textiles class we got to start on our garments today so I did and got quite a bit of it done which was very exiting next week we get to turn in our sketchbooks and keep working on our garment, paper, and design boards.

This is the front of the exhibit
you could not take pictures
once you were in the exhibit,
but I did take a few of the ones
outside!

This one is one of my favorites

There is Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach I do not know why
these people were dressed like this but it was cutie!
In my fashion trends class we went to a Christian Louboutin exhibit in the Design Museum here in London. For those of you who do not know what he is famous for its shoes, and they are some interesting and gorgeous shoes at that. He gets his influence from show girls and movies and celebrity’s, like one pair that I really liked that had fringe on them were inspired by Tina Turner and the way she moves her legs and body while she performs. After that I just headed home but on the way home I ran into Mario, Luigi, and the Princess Peach in the underground that was fun!

Day 48: Cleaning and catching up on homework

Today I am trying to clean my room and organize everything and get my homework caught up.

Day 47: Tierd

Today was rough because I had to get up at 7:30 AM to get to class and stay till 1.First off I did not wake up till 9:30 AM and then had to run to class. Second I did not feel well because of such little sleep, but the class I went to was doing C.A.D. today which I am very good at, so even though I got there half way through the class I still did 2 projects in the time it took the others to do one. Then I picked up the package that my hubby had sent me and went back home to go to bed. I got up at 6:00 PM and after talking to my parents and hubby I started to try to remember what I had done in the past 3 days.

Day 46: Trying to see the inside of the Vatican, Spanish steps, Pantheon, and walking around

breakfast

Today we woke up at 8AM again and got ready and had another wonderful breakfast. We also checked out of the hotel but asked if we could leave our bags there so we did not have to carry them around all day. The hotel put them in a locked closet and we were off in the hotel shuttle again. We started out trying to go see the inside of the Vatican, but did not realize that every last Sunday of the month all churches in Rome are free to the public to come see and so the line to get into the Vatican was even longer than it had been the day before, so we started towards the Spanish Steps. When we got to the Spanish steps we did walk all the way up them which was quite a task. At the top though were lots of painters and the view was beautiful. we walked back down them and walked around the area and we were in fashion heaven because right in front of the Spanish Steps was Prada, Jimmy Choo, Armani, Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Valentino! after we had drooled abit at the window displays we walked back up to the station to go to the Pantheon. We had to get off at the station where we had gotten off at for the Trev Fountain and we thought about trying to take a bus there but could not figure out which one to take. We started walking and it really was not as far as we had originally thought, When we got there I was so exited and we went in and I was even more exited because it was exactly how my Art History Professor had described. We took some photos inside and then some outside, after that we just kind of wandered around Rome stopping in shops and having lunch at a little cafe. The other two girls got some pasta and I just tyred to take every drop of it in. We also went and stoped at another Metro station hoping to see more and we walked across a concert and sat there and listened to it for a while. After that we headed back to the hotel to wait to go at 7:00 Pm we got a taxi to take us back to the airport we went through customs again and waited to get on our plain which was supposed to leave at 10:05 but did not leave till 10:50 when we got back to London we had to check in at the boarder again and then went to wait for our easy bus ride back into the city where we had to figure out how to get back to the flat by public bus. We got a little lost but ended up back at our flat at 4:30AM. And that was my trip to Rome, it was short sweet and allot of fun.
